I have 8 years experience in sales and am strongly considering becoming a mortgage loan officer and I want to make sure I have an accurate picture of what to expect. Thanks!

    I love it.

If you sit around and wait for business, you will not be very succesful, however, if you get out there and pound the pavement and get in good with real estate agents you will be just fine. Best of luck to you.

My husband didn’t like it very well. If you own the office, it can be a more rewarding experience. But to be employed for someone else, it usually is a commission basis only. If you are a permanent fixture in the area and know alot of the realtors on a personal basis, you will have better luck at making a living at it.

I’ve been in the industry for 7 years and love it! I now own my own mortgage company and it is a very rewarding not to mention profitable experience. It’s not just a job it’s a career!
