In most states you have to spend a year working for another broker in order to become one yourself. During that year, you’re what’s called a real estate sales associate. In order to become a sales associate, you will need to take an accredited real estate course for your state and successfully pass the exam.
Check for the procedure on your state’s website. Once you’ve completed your first year, if you’re still interested in going on for a broker’s license, you’ll take the course and test for that license, the same as you did for the sales associate.
It just occurred to me that perhaps your degree is in law or in real estate. If that’s the case, it’s likely you can skip the other training and possibly the test as well. Like I said, check the state’s website to be certain. You might also consider calling a local real estate broker to ask.
    Good luck!

You really don’t need a college degree to be a real estate broker. You do need to complete a real estate education program offered by you technical college or some real estate firms. There are several tests that must be taken and then you need to pass a state examine before you get your license
